Pushing the Limits

Livingston Municipal Library to host the second round of Pushing the Limits- reading, viewing and discussion series. Since the beginning of time, humans have imagined and achieved ways to push the boundaries of the physical world. We want to be stronger, smarter, and more aware, and we create stories to bring those dreams to life. But many of those stories are no longer just stories; and with great new advances in science and technology, we are finding ways in which all of us are able to push the limits every day. The first topic is transformation and the book is Barbara Kingsolver’s “Flight Behavior” on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. Rachel Laca is the Park Store Manager at Lake Livingston State Park and will be our science guide for this session. Ms. Laca has two degrees, a Bachelor’s in Entomology and a Bachelor’s in Animal Science and enjoys sharing the world of insects with the public in order to increase the awareness of how much the human population is dependent on these little creatures. To sign up and obtain free copies of program materials please, contact Luisa Santiago at 936-327-4252 or email lsantiago@livingstonlibrary.net. All programs will be held at Livingston Municipal Library, located at 707 N. Tyler Ave.
