Earth Science on Wheels: Science Sort/Fossil Dig

"Science On Wheels: Science Sort gives students the opportunity to play paleontologist, as they embark on a mini fossil dig of their own to find shark teeth, shells and more! Students first will prepare to identify fossils, learning about the many kinds of fossils there are, how fossils are made, and what various types can tell us about ancient life. Next, they are provided with samples of real fossilized sediment to analyze and compare to a fossil identification guide, using the scientific process to determine the origin of fossils they uncover. R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs)

Handlers and their dogs will work with children on a one-on-one basis for approximately 15-20 minutes each. This program is dedicated to improving the reading skills of children using certified therapy teams as literacy mentors.

"Science On Stage: Cool Chemistry showcases the wild world of chemistry with exciting, interactive demonstrations which feature amazing chemical reactions! Get to know chemical changes and states of matter while observing various types of reactions and their byproducts. Students will have a blast (literally!) witnessing demonstrations of combustion, color changes, and polymers, and watching the incredible effects of liquid nitrogen. Discover all the fascinating ways we use chemistry as you see how fireworks get their color, why diapers are so absorbent, and what makes a car go!
